Opening details have now been announced for Whitstable’s first ever 24-hour gym. Snap Fitness is headed to the coastal town, taking over Radio House in the John Wilson Business Park.

Previously the home of Heart Radio’s Kent branch until 2019, the spacious 10,000 sq ft site will be totally transformed ahead of the gym's grand opening in August of this year. Franchise bosses promise state-of-the-art equipment across the fitness centre’s three floors, as well as a ‘unique boutique functional area’.

Alongside 24/7 access, members will also be able to make the most of free group exercise classes, a dedicated recovery area kitted out with massage guns and free on-site parking. Snap Fitness currently operates a total of 97 gyms across the UK and Ireland, including one in the neighbouring town of Herne Bay, and over 1,000 locations globally.

Once open, fitness enthusiasts can expect to see a range of equipment and facilities available for use, including free weights, a dedicated spin studio, treadmills, private changing rooms and more. The opening will also create employment opportunities within the town.

Franchisee Kunal M Patel said: “We’re extremely excited to be able to open two gyms in neighbouring towns to inspire and nurture the wellbeing of such a special community. It’s really rewarding for us to be working with such a respected developer in the local community, as well as being able to regenerate a well-known building in Whitstable and give it a new lease of life.

“We are not a scary corporate stifled by rigid structures, at Snap Fitness we pride ourselves on delivering a personalised service and embracing inclusivity, welcoming people of all backgrounds and abilities, our aim is to empower them with knowledge whilst making them feel comfortable and safe. We’re a family-owned business ourselves and with this now being our third location in the Kent area – we are most excited to create a hub for the local community to focus on their mental and physical wellbeing.”
