While this Christmas may not feel wildly different from last year’s depending on where in the country you live, there are still many more freedoms afforded to us that had been denied last year. For starters, London hasn’t been thrown into a specially made ‘tier’ a few days before Christmas and those of us who are not in self-isolation are relatively free to travel around the country.

There is also the fact that many of us are double-jabbed against the virus, with almost 50 per cent of the population having now received a booster dose of the vaccine as well. This means that while we may not be carefree when it comes to socialising with the presence of the new Omicron variant of Covid, we can be reassured that our disease will be less severe due to the fact that we’ve been jabbed.

So if you’re one of the lucky ones who’ve not been affected by rail strikes this Christmas, or were smart enough to make your journey home earlier in the month, you might be experiencing a more ‘normal’ Christmas which approximates to what we all would have had before 2020.

Which leads us to ask what things are you most excited for this Christmas that you couldn’t do last year? Will you get to spend time with friends and family over the festive period that you may have missed out on in 2020?
