The BBC's epic adaptation of Agatha Christie's Ordeal by Innocence came to its conclusion tonight and there were some very mixed reactions from viewers.
It was finally revealed that Rachel Argyle (Anna Chancellor) was murdered by her own husband Leo (Bill Nighy) and not her adoptive son Jack (Anthony Boyle).
Of course, for those who have read the original novel, the murderer was written by Christie as being Kirsten Lindstrom, under Jack's influence.
Some people weren't very happy about the big differences between the novel and the TV series (and some of them got a bit sweary):
Please don't change the murderer. Please don't change the murderer. Please don't change the murderer. If they do it's not #OrdealByInnocence it's another storyline.- Mitch (@iDashItAll) April 15, 2018
Absolutely the worst adaptation of an Agatha Christie book ever to grace our screens. Utter rubbish. #OrdealByInnocence- Amy (@amy_shann) April 15, 2018
So basically the BBC have taken #OrdealbyInnocence and kept the title, the fact that the mother died and possibly the murderer but everything else is completely different! ]]>🙄🙄🙄😒😩👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍
