Oregon Man Calls Porch Pirate a 'Hero' for Taking Cheap Charger Cable

A man in Hillsboro, Oregon, has been labelled a “hero” after he allegedly stole a package containing a charger cable from the front porch of a residence on Thursday, October 17.

Hillsboro resident Dan Beaupain described the man a “hero” after a package containing an $8 charger cable was taken from his doorstep.

Beaupain had ordered the charger online, but later wanted to cancel after he read bad reviews. He took to Nextdoor to write a tongue-in-cheek post about what happened, after he discovered the charger was gone and saw a doorbell video of the alleged theft.

Beaupain’s wife, Elizabeth, quoted the Nextdoor post on her Facebook page. Beaupain wrote the man, dressed in a red sweatshirt, baggy pants and a Red Sox hat, “courageously swooped up the poor rated charging cable”.

“This man in his mid 30’s has selflessly taken time out of his day to look out for the common man – who has time for that?! I surely don’t, considering I have a real job.”

“Be on the lookout for this courageous hero and give him a pat on the back,” Beaupain joked. Credit: Elizabeth Beaupain via Storyful
