According to Oregon's state website, the Psychiatric Security Review Board's statutory functions include accepting jurisdiction over guilty except for insanity individuals, balancing the public's concern for safety with the rights of their clients, and monitoring their progress.

The press release said that "the victim and her family" were present at the sentencing and "look forward to their continued healing."

"Multnomah County Deputy District Attorneys Sean Hughey and Julian Samuels prosecuted this case. Prosecutors thank the MCSO Transit Deputies who worked on this case," the release added.
