Oregon's Boxcar Fire Grows to 10,000 Acres in Two Days

The Boxcar Fire near Maupin, Oregon, grew to 10,000 acres by Thursday, June 22, just one day after it was first reported.

The blaze is believed to have been started by lightning, according to local news reports.

A level 1 evacuation was issued for East Maupin, and portions of Highway 197 were closed.
