AN oriental-themed mini golf course is set to open as part of the brand-new adventure and entertainment complex in Poole.
Indoor adventure park group Flip Out is planning to open a Putt Putt Noodle at the old Marks & Spencer unit at the Dolphin Shopping Centre alongside its new Flip Out park in the new year.
Putt Putt Noodle is a new concept which blends oriental-themed mini golf with authentic Asian street food.
The mini golf venture will be located next door to the Flip Out park and is described as “a fusion of golf and food” across 27 holes, with three courses each housing nine holes.
Each course will celebrate the culture of Asia, with hole decorations taking inspiration from the cherry blossom, Crouching Tiger and dragons.
The combined development of the Flip Out and Putt Putt Noodle parks is set to cost approximately £3million.
At present, just one Putt Putt Noodle park operates in the UK and is located at the Castle Quarter shopping centre in Norwich.
Richard Beese, co-owner of Flip Out, said: “Crazy golf is extremely popular in the UK, but we wanted to bring a new twist to the concept and inject some Asian flavours into the experience.
“The Putt Putt Noodle we have in Norwich is going down so well with mini-golfers, we are excited to open some more and Poole is one of the first locations on the list.
“Giving people the chance to socialise and have fun while being active is part of our company ethos and we also look forward to creating some full and part time job opportunities in the community.”
The development will see the adventure park stretch over 40,000 sq. ft inside the Dolphin Shopping Centre.
Hundreds reacted positively after BCP Council approved the Flip Out plans in August after no objections were filed.
As well as the Putt Putt Noodle golf course, Flip Out Poole is planned to house:
A bumper car track
Synthetic ice rink
Interactive football area
Ninja obstacle course
Cannon blast arena
Construction at the site has begun ahead of opening in the new year.
