One of the original Bullring shops that opened when the centre did in 2003 has revealed its future plans after shutting its store. Skechers, which sits beside Selfridges on the lower ground floor of the mall, is currently closed to customers with hoarding up declaring work was being done to renovate the space.

Now the footwear retailer has revealed when it plans to reopen in the city. While many retailers have left the Bullring in the 22 years since it opened in its current form, Skechers is planning to almost double the size of its space in town.

A spokesperson told BirminghamLive: "We are in the process of expanding the store, nearly doubling the space to allow consumers to shop from our expanding collection of comfort technology products. It should be open late March, early April."

The news comes following a number of closures in the shopping centre in the last three weeks. Among them is Endura Roses, which left a touching message to customers along with a solitary flower when it closed for the last time on New Year's Eve.

Opposite, the Police store shut to customers, while on the ground floor, Hanok announced it would be exiting the Bullring after five months on January 22.
