Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 almost featured a cameo from another character in the first movie.

During a Twitter Q&A, director James Gunn confirmed that Glenn Close's Nova Prime was set to feature in the sequel, but didn't explain why she was cut. "She had a cameo we didn't use, yes," he responded to a fan.

With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 now out on DVD and Blu-ray, it looks like we won't get to see what Nova Prime was up to as the scene wasn't included on the release.

Maybe she'll get an outing in Vol 3, which Gunn has been talking up by saying it's crucial to the future of the MCU as it will help to "set up the next 10, 20 years of Marvel movies".

"It's going to really expand the cosmic universe. We're going to be setting up new characters. It will be the last movie of this version of Guardians of the Galaxy," he teased.

We know we'll be seeing the Guardians in Avengers: Infinity War, but there's also reports that they could be making a cameo in Thor: Ragnarok.

Marvel's concept art for the upcoming threequel apparently features Star-Lord's ship, the Milano, and producer Brad Winderbaum has said there are "elements of Guardians" that work their way into Thor: Ragnarok.

Thor: Ragnarok is out in UK cinemas on October 24 and US cinemas on November 3, with Avengers: Infinity War to follow in UK cinemas on April 27, 2018 and US cinemas on May 4, 2018.
