Oscar nominations 2019 LIVE REACTION: Olivia Colman among Brits vying, Black Panther making history and Roma in the mix

Netflix hit Roma and historical comedy The Favourite have picked up 10 nominations each ahead of next month's Oscars.

The films will battle it out for Best Picture, with Roma making history to bag the first ever Academy Award nod for a streaming service.

Ryan Coogler's Black Panther is also up for the gong, and could become the first ever superhero film to take the title. Other contenders include BlackKKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, Green Book, A Star Is Born and Vice.

It could be a big night for Brits if Olivia Colman and Christian Bale replicate their Golden Globes success to take home Leading Actress and Actor for their roles in The Favourite and Vice, respectively.

Notable snubs include Supporting Actor for Timothee Chalamet for Beautiful Boy and Best Director for Bradley Cooper who made his directorial debut with A Star is Born.

Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre will play host to the 91st Academy Awards on February 24. The Academy has yet to announce a host after Kevin Hart stepped down.
