The music of an Oscar-winning composer will be performed in Glasgow.

Hans Zimmer has written scores for blockbusters such as Dune, No Time to Die, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Dark Knight trilogy.

Now his compositions will be heard in a new tour The World of Hans Zimmer - A New Dimension, at 30 dates in 13 countries.

The show will come to Glasgow's OVO Hydro on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

While Zimmer himself will not appear live on stage, he will serve as the show’s curator and musical director.

He said: “My aspiration with this new show is to preserve the culture of the orchestra and allow audiences to rediscover the unique facets of orchestral music.

"There are many background stories I would love to tell and long-time companions and friends I would like to introduce.”

The show will be conducted by Gavin Greenaway, a longtime friend of Zimmer, and will feature talented soloists as well as a symphony orchestra.

Greenaway said of the concert: “We have found a way for everyone to exist in this music without anyone being the big star.

"The music will be the star. … The show is an absolute thrill, and we love it.”

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, April 21 here.
