Amanda Owen's Our Farm Next Door has wrapped on its first series after five episodes but the renovation has yet to be finished.

The farming series which sees Amanda Owen and her ex Clive reunite after fame destroyed their 22-year marriage to renovate a derelict farmhouse Anty John's — with the help of their nine children: Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine and Nancy. Ahead of the first series airing, Amanda said "you don't always get the happy ending you want".

It was announced that Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids plays out over 10 episodes, filmed a stone's throw away from Ravenseat Farm in the Yorkshire Dales. There are five episodes in each of the series. Every episode runs for sixty minutes airing on More4. The first instalment of the show has now ended, with Amanda getting emotional about how far the renovation had come on.

A message from Amanda's agent on Facebook read: "It's the final episode of the first series of Our Farm Next Door tonight at 8pm on More4."

She added: "The whole Owen family get together at Anty John's as the build continues to take shape, whilst Clive reflects on the children growing up and taking on more responsibilities at the farm including Miles, now 18 years of age!

"It's a beautiful episode so I hope you're able to tune in and please do spread the word. You can also catch up on the whole series on the Channel 4 streamer. Thanks for watching and enjoy! Jox."

Making the series, the Owens knew their marriage would be under the microscope as it was the first time they were reunited in front of the cameras following their amicable break up. After their split hit headlines, the couple kept a low profile until now where they have been candid while speaking about what happened behind the scenes on camera for the first time.

In Our Farm Next Door, Amanda said the exes could "weather any storm" and she said they had "consciously uncoupled" — using the term Gwyneth Paltrow used to describe her split from Chris Martin in 2014.

She said: "We’ve always joked about being able to weather any storm, and when I said that, I was kind of meaning meteorologically. But we have to weather any storm that there is going out there. There is obviously nothing that we can't get through, that's kind of our mantra. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. That's what they say isn't it? So that's what we are trying."

Also, the Yorkshire Shepherdess said it had been an "incredibly hard" year. She said in another episode of the show: "Me and Clive, although we are still husband and wife, we are separate. This last year has been incredibly hard in so many respects but we’ve got through it."

Clive agreed: "Me and Mandy, we’ve had a strange few years and we’re now in a place where although we are not actually together, we are still in business together, we still have these kids together. It’s a crazy situation but it isn’t; it’s the most sensible thing for everybody to do."

As the first series come to an end, the renovation of Anty John's has yet to be finished. We don't know whether the family manage to complete the project in the second series. We know — thanks to Grand Designs — that some builds can be left unfinished where people are left out of pocket or come up against other building problems.

While the focus of the first series has mainly been on the structure of the building, the second series is likely to turn its attention to the interior. Amanda said they would have to look at the electrics, plumbers and make further decisions.

Our Farm Next Door series one has come to an end in the middle of November. Fans of the series will have to wait until next year for the second instalment but it's not known when the episodes will be available to watch on More4 and Channel 4 streaming services. We do know that the five episodes have been filmed but have been kept tightly under wraps.

After the 10 episodes finish playing out on screen next year, we don't know what will be next for the farm stars. Their Our Yorkshire Farm that came to an end in 2022 ran for five series, documenting their lives on the farm. Fans of the series will hope Amanda and Clive will continue to update them with what is going on in their lives and on the farm.
