Outlander star leaves fans speechless with their real voice - 'They aren't English?!'

Fans of Outlander were left gobsmacked after watching a new clip, showing the filming of William Ransom’s (played by Charles Vandervaart) daring rescue by his adoptive father Lord John Grey (David Berry) and Young Ian Murray (John Bell).

The short clip saw the stars addressing the camera and talking through the scene.

Vandervaart, 24, said: “Got a bit bashed up but you should have seen the other guys.”

He joked William had “seen better days” after the character was chained up with a bag over his head and a piece of wood in his mouth.

The rising star praised his co-star and onscreen dad, who was wearing an eye patch following his brutal beating at the hands of Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).

Moreover, even Scottish cast members such as Ian Murray star Steven Cree and Lauren Lyle have previously commented how their Scottish accents are unlike the ones for the show given the Highland region and the time period of the show.
