Outnumbered star Daniel Roche says that his on-screen parents Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner had been dating “for years” before officially confirming their romance over the weekend.

Dennis and Skinner, who starred as Pete and Sue in the popular sitcom, spoke out about their relationship in a recent interview, with Dennis telling The Mail on Sunday that they are “so very happy”.

And now Roche, who played their on-screen son Ben, has revealed that they have been together for “years”.

Speaking during a live Instagram video, reported by the Daily Mail, he said: “They've been doing it for years, they've been going out for years.

“They are together, they're having a good time. It's all nice.”

Roche, 18, rose to fame in the BBC comedy as one of three siblings, alongside Tyger Drew-Honey, who played Jake, and Ramona Marquez, who starred as Karen.

The high-energy comedy programme enjoyed success on the public broadcaster, spanning five series and a number of specials from 2007 to 2014.

It is claimed that Dennis, 56, and Skinner, 53, “found each other” after the breakdown of their respective marriages.

The Sun report that the duo got together in March 2017 but the interview marked the first time they have spoken about their relationship.
