Over 1,800 Evacuated After Tropical Cyclone Hits Fiji

Over 1,800 people were evacuated from their homes as severe flooding caused by a tropical cyclone continued to impact Fiji on January 10.

Local reports, citing comments made by Minister for Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu, said that 1,837 people were sheltering in 110 evacuation centers on Monday.

Elsewhere in Fiji, a man died after being swept away in floodwater in Tavua on Sunday.
