Over 3 million PIP claimants to receive DWP Christmas bonus payment this December
In the lead up to Christmas, over three million Brits who receive Personal Independence Payments are set to receive additional bonus payments. Come December, claimants will see an extra £10 in their bank accounts.
This unexpected cash is actually the DWP's Christmas Bonus, an annual gesture aiming to offer a financial uplift over the festive season.
The payment typically reaches bank accounts just ahead of Christmas, benefiting recipients of PIP, Carer's Allowance, and Pension Credit among other qualifying benefits. However, standalone Universal Credit claimants are not eligible for the Christmas Bonus.

While the bonus provides some assistance, its effectiveness has been questioned due to its modest sum and stagnant rate, unchanged even amidst soaring inflation, reports Birmingham Live.
Amid debates on Winter Fuel Payments and the imminent loss of up to £300 for numerous pensioners, the Government clarifies: "The Christmas Bonus is a one-off tax-free £10 payment made before Christmas, paid to people who get certain benefits in the qualifying week. This is normally the first full week of December."
"You do not need to claim - you should get paid automatically. You must also get at least one of the (qualifying) benefits in the 'qualifying week' - this is normally the first full week of December."
