It was all over my Instagram so I knew I had to visit

Everyday when I’m scrolling through Instagram, pictures and videos of the same coffee seem to pop up on my feed. This particular coffee has a thick layer of chocolate and hazelnuts smothered around the ring of the mug… it’s like something out of a fantasy.

I’d been drooling over these coffees for too long, so I finally decided to take myself - and my friends - to Francie’s Focaccia on the Liverpool Albert Dock to try one.

It was a stunning afternoon in the city and the golden hour sunshine was lighting up the docks in a way that can only be described as picture postcard perfect. It made for the perfect setting to enjoy this cappuccino I’d been dying to try for so long.

Thankfully, there was no queue when we arrived at Francie’s - which has so many coffees, treats and focaccias on the menu to try - but I was in need of a signature cappuccino, which I’d been dying to try for literal months.

There are actually two signatures you can try, one is pistachio and the other is Nutella, I of course opted for the Nutella because this girl has the world's sweetest tooth.

I was drooling watching the barista make our coffees, the amount of chocolate she spread around the mugs was insane (in a good way). Finally getting to try the coffee was probably one of the best moments of my life (I’m not dramatic), it tasted incredible and there is nothing I love more than coffee and chocolate, so combining my two favourite things in one is just a dream.

And if these chocolate coffees weren’t enough we of course needed to try some sweet treats to go with it. We opted for the lemon muffin, pistachio cake and of course more chocolate…the chocolate brownie.

Lemon muffins are my favourite, but let me tell you this pistachio cake was incredible and almost ... almost as nice as the chocolate brownie, because nothing beats chocolate in my eyes.

I don’t know if it was the whole setting of golden hour and incredible chocolate-goodness but our little coffee date to Francie’s was just lovely - and not too badly priced either, it was less than £30 for three coffees and three cakes, which I think for the docks isn’t too bad at all.

It’s pretty obvious why this spot has taken Instagram by storm, it's a very Instagrammable hot spot situated in the heart of the docks with stunning coffees to top off the experience. I’d go as far to say as it’s my favourite coffee spot I’ve found in Liverpool so far.
