Overnight road closures on M3, M25 and A3 including bank holiday weekend

Take care while travelling at night with road closures in place

Drivers will need to check their journeys throughout Surrey this week, as major roads close overnight for urgent repairs. During the last week of summer holidays, many may still be traveling in the early hours of the morning to and from holiday destinations.

Closures organised by National Highways may have been put in place for drainage, road works and traffic management scheme installations. It is vital that works are completed to ensure that Surrey’s roads are safe.

Many major routes cut through Surrey, such as the M25, the M3 and the A3, connecting London with further afield areas. Sections of the M25 are undergoing major construction, such as the Wisley Interchange.

The start of the week starts with a myriad of closures, particularly on link roads to other busy highways like the M40. This could impact those travelling to and from Heathrow Airport, or into Surrey and London.

Luckily for drivers, there appears to be minimal overnight road closure throughout the bank holiday weekend. This means travelling late at night or early in the morning during the weekend should run relatively smoothly.

To prepare for closures check the list below, and make sure to leave early enough in case extra time is needed for journeys. Yellow diversion boards will be put in place for drivers to follow.

Monday

M25

  • M25 clockwise and anticlockwise closure to the M40 southbound link road near Uxbridge. Closure in place from 10pm until 6am the following morning

  • M25 clockwise closure between junction 10 and 11 near Wisley and Chertsey. Closure in place from 10pm until 5.30am the following morning

  • M25 anticlockwise closure between junction 9 and 8 near Leatherhead and Reigate. Closure in place from 10pm and 5.30am the following morning

  • M25 clockwise closure to the M23 northbound and southbound link road near Gatwick. Closure in place from 10pm until 5am the following morning

M3

  • M3 southbound closure from junction 4a to junction 5 near Camberley and Fleet. Closure in place from 9pm until 6am the following morning

  • M3 westbound closure from junction 2 between exit and entry slip roads near Thorpe. Closure in place from 10pm until 5am the following morning

A3

  • A3 northbound closure at the Hindhead Tunnel entry slip road. Closure in place from 9pm until 6am the following morning

  • A3 northbound closure at the Wisley exit slip road. Closure in place from 10pm until 5.30am the following morning

  • A3 eastbound closure at Painshill Park exit slip road. Closure in place fro 10pm until 6am the following morning

Tuesday

M25
