Overturned car 'blocks traffic both ways' on major Edinburgh road

An overturned car was reported on Lanark Road near Baberton Avenue on Monday, September 2.

Lothian Buses announced diversions for the number 44 bus shortly before 7:00 am.

The incident blocked traffic in both directions, leading to delays for early-morning commuters.

Locals reported that the car had "rolled onto its back."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: " Around 6.40am on Monday, September 2, we received a report of a crash involving a vehicle on Lanark Road, Edinburgh. The driver was taken to The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. The road re-opened around 8am."
