The overwhelming majority of Brits think that Brexit will be delayed.

With just weeks to go until the proposed March 29 exit, most of the British public thinkS there will be a hold-up that stalls the UK leaving the European Union.

According to PoliticalBetting.com, just 21.3% of people polled think the UK will have divorced the EU by the end of March, which has shrunk considerably since October 2018, when 71% of people had faith in Theresa May’s proposed timescale.

Further delays could occur tomorrow, when the House of Commons vote on the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal.

New research has also found that more than two-thirds (69%) of Britons say the country has got angrier since the Brexit referendum.

While one in six have fallen out with family and friends on issues related to the EU referendum.Since the referendum, in June 2016, four in 10 Britons think that other people are more likely to take part in violent protest, according to an annual Trust Barometer produced by communications firm Edelman.

Six in 10 of those questioned said that the Government does not listen to people like them, and the figure was similar among both Leave and Remain voters.

The survey of around 2,000 individuals found a decline in trust in the leaders of both major parties. Only 35% said they trusted Prime Minister Theresa May to do the right thing – down from 39% last year – and 26% said the same of Jeremy Corbyn (down from 36%).

Unsurprisingly, 59% said they were fatigued with hearing about Brexit, more than a third (35%) said they were reading, watching or listening to more news.

Meanwhile a petition to block Brexit entirely has reached a major milestone.

The petition states: “The British people MUST be given the Brexit they voted for anything else is not acceptable to the British public ARTICLE 50 must not under any circumstances be hindered/suspended/stopped for any reason whatsoever.”

After amassing more than 100,000 signatures, the petition will be considered for debate in Parliament.
