Make your own 'dreamy' homemade Biscoff spread in just 2 minutes - no cooking needed

Biscoff enthusiasts are in for a treat as they no longer need to splash out on a jar from the supermarket; there's a simple recipe that let's you whip up the sweet spread at home, and it only takes two minutes. Emma Hollingsworth, known for her cookbooks and health coaching, shared a Biscoff-inspired recipe that's perfect for autumn and incredibly, it's totally vegan-friendly, so everyone can enjoy it.

She first tantalised taste buds with her book 'Vegan Chocolate Treats', which emerged in 2023 brimming with over 100 easy recipes. Emma prides her Biscoff alternative on being free of "nasties", reports the Liverpool Echo.

The health guru took to Instagram earlier this month and posted: "My version of this super popular spread uses nut butters instead of processed cookies, and the natural sweetness of maple syrup instead of refined sugar. It's got the signature spice blend of Biscoff but without the nasties!"

Emma's culinary creation has been a hit online, with the Reel hitting over 350,000 views, securing 3,216 likes, and prompting 144 comments. @healmedelicous kept it short and sweet commenting: "Dreamy."

@bakingnome enthused: "Ooh this sounds delicious," and Eva added: "Oh if this tastes good I'll be in your debt forever."

Another follower, Sophie, planned ahead: "Saving this for when I'm home." @nc90schic expressed sheer delight: "Oh my daze, you have saved my life!!"

And @foodallergymoms_andmore couldn't resist saying: "Oh my! Need to try this ASAP."

Homemade Biscoff spread

Ingredients

  • 112g almond butter

  • 112g cashew butter

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

  • Pinch of salt

Method

Combine the nut butters in a bowl, then mix in maple syrup, spices and salt if using. Stir everything together until well combined.

If you're not planning to use it immediately, transfer the homemade Biscoff spread into a glass jar and store it in the fridge. It can be kept in the fridge for up to two to three weeks.
