A one-year-old puppy who was taken in a car theft was reunited with its owners in Burlington, Washington, on August 29, according to local reports.

Footage by Ginger Giannoni shows her and her partner’s joyous reunion with Pumpkin, a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, at the Humane Society of Skagit Valley.

Giannoni said Pumpkin was in her vehicle when it was stolen from Everett on August 20, Kiro7 reported. The car was recovered on August 27 in Tulalip and Giannoni was then contacted by the animal shelter to collect Pumpkin. Credit: Ginger Giannoni via Storyful

- We're looking for a Pumpkin.

- A Pumpkin? Is this the dog from [INAUDIBLE]? Did you come with your ID?

GINGER GIANNONI: Yeah.

- We've already verified, right?

GINGER GIANNONI: Yeah.

- OK. Did you give [INAUDIBLE]. No? Have you made contact with the [INAUDIBLE] police department?

GINGER GIANNONI: With who?

- With the [INAUDIBLE] Police Department. Yeah? OK. Did they say they were going to call here?

GINGER GIANNONI: Oh, I don't know.

GINGER GIANNONI: Oh, I don't know.

- What were you supposed to do?

GINGER GIANNONI: I don't know.

I thought you talked to the police when they said they found the car.

- Frankie, Anne's going to help you. I am so excited. I had jumbled the two numbers.

GINGER GIANNONI: I told you. I told you she sounded just as excited as I did.

- So when I talked with-- with Lisa, the shelter manager at Cause, I was telling her, she goes, "well, you know, we don't plan on really rescuing from Florida." She goes, "the furthest we've rescued is from Texas."

I feel really [INAUDIBLE]. Said, "OK, [INAUDIBLE] maybe. Let me do it again." And sure enough--

[DOGS BARKING]

GINGER GIANNONI: We're on the [INAUDIBLE] one.

- That's a big voice for a little dog.

GINGER GIANNONI: [GASPS] Pumpkin!

- Oh, my god!

- Aw! Oh.

GINGER GIANNONI: Hi, baby! I love you! Hi!

- I'm so sorry.

- When I was calling her Pumpkin, she must have said, "why does this lady know my name?"

GINGER GIANNONI: Hi, baby!

- Oh, she's trembling.

- I'm so sorry.

[EXCITEDLY WHIMPERING]

Are you going to let me out or something?

- Is it OK if I go ahead and take a picture of you guys?

GINGER GIANNONI: Oh, yeah.
