A&P Falmouth shipyard prosecuted twice in two years over health and safety
One of Cornwall’s largest employers is to be sentenced for health and safety breaches for the second time in two years. A&P Falmouth pleaded guilty to a breach of their duty as an employer in connection with the safety of an employee when the firm appeared before Truro Crown Court today (Thursday, September 12).
The shipbuilder based at Falmouth docks also accepted that it failed to discharge its general health and safety duty to a person other than an employee.
The company will be appearing before the court again next month for sentencing. In December 2022 A&P Falmouth directors where in the dock at the crown court for a hearing in a case also brought about by the Health and Safety Executive.
