The Pact actress Rakie Ayola has opened up about the possibility of a second season.

Currently taking BBC One by storm – episodes 5 and 6 air next Monday (May 24) and Tuesday – the drama also features Eddie Marsan, Julia Hesmondhalgh, Laura Fraser and Heledd Gwyn, and follows a group of brewery workers whose lives are flipped upside down when their boss dies.

Chatting to Digital Spy and other press, DS Holland star Ayola mulled over the idea of more stories in this universe.

"If you think about it, you could have a series where the world blows up and there's nothing left except a blade of grass and if someone wanted to get 17 years out of it, they could," she began.

"But as it is, as Julie said, it's so beautifully formed. So you never know. We shouldn't jinx it. These six episodes are worth investing in because they are fantastic and there really is a story that goes from A to Z.

"We might be here in 20 years talking about it. Who knows."
