Paddy McGuinness has said he has a big promise to keep after revealing how much his Children in Need fundraiser raised.

Last week, the BBC Radio 2 presenter cycled 300 miles across the UK, including stops in Lancashire, on his dream childhood bike, a Raleigh Chopper. The 51-year-old admits he was 'absolutely physically broken' by the challenge but added he was the 'happiest person around' after completing the epic journey.

On Sunday afternoon, Paddy found out the total raised from the cycle challenge so far, the Manchester Evening News reports. BBC Radio 2 shared the total on their official Instagram account, showing Paddy finding out with dramatic music playing in the background.

As he took a look at the total, the presenter spluttered and said: "Oh my god... oh my days," as he covered his head in his hands.

Composing himself, Paddy continued: "Folks, wherever you are, you have raised for Children in Need £10,319,707."

Smashing the £10 million milestone, tickertape fell from the ceiling as Paddy threw his arms in the air and the studio erupted in cheers. It seemed everyone was supportive of Paddy's achievements.

Bobbincottage posted: "You have raised it Paddy!!!! The nation got involved because of how humble, grateful and determined you were. Who chooses to ride that far on a Raleigh Chopper!!!!!"

Amber_lea_welshie_ wrote: "Wow what an inspiration you are. We followed your story daily on the radio and loved every minute".

While pandas_poetry_ said: "Bloody marvellous [heart eyes emoji] what that will mean to so many children and families."

However, Paddy has been left with a big promise he made after completing the challenge. Paddy told fellow Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball he would get a tattoo of his Chopper bike if the total raised passes £10 million.

Speaking to Zoe on her Radio 2 Breakfast Show he said: “If we together get to £10million on this challenge, I’m getting Patch tattooed. “I just thought of it - I’m already regretting saying that,” he admitted, laughing: "I’m off to Google tattoo artists."

It seems listeners hadn't forgotten about his pledge either.

Shazza_1974 said: "Tattoo time Paddy x".

Audsjw reminded Paddy to "Get the ink out," before adding "Well done".

While nicolalizzie asked: "So when are you getting the tattoo?"
