Borussia Dortmund were made to work hard against a determined Paderborn side who were full of heart and running, but - as we have seen repeatedly since the Bundesliga restart - the underdog hosts had no match for the superior quality shown by their visitors as the game wore on in eerie silence.

Paderborn managed to get to half-time at 0-0 and kept the Bundesliga's second best side to some half-chances, but there was always the sense that the parity would not last forever.

Sure enough, Dortmund took the lead shortly after half time when Thorgan Hazard had a simple tap-in after Emre Can had got to the byline and cut back.

Sancho has previously had to be content with a place on the bench since the resumption as he recovers from a knock, but he made full use of his 90 minutes here. He scored the second after Brandt got down the flank and then revealed a shirt saying Justice For George Floyd. He was booked.

That looked likely to settle the game as a contest, but the hosts then got a penalty against the run of play as Emre Can was struck on the elbow.

However, Hunemeier's thumping spot kick was a mere blip as Dortmund scored again almost immediately. Sancho received the ball, and shifted it with a clever touch onto his left before firing home.

With the hosts well beaten, Schmelzer and Hakimi each scored before Sancho completed the rout with his third shortly before full time.
