Paedophile Nursery Worker Jailed For Life

Former nursery worker Paul Wilson has been jailed for life for raping a toddler in his care and grooming dozens of girls online.

The judge at Birmingham Crown Court said the 21-year-old was "depraved, predatory and vile" and said he must serve a minimum term of 15 years.

Wilson, who worked at the Little Stars nursery in the Nechells area of Birmingham, admitted two counts of oral rape of a girl aged two or three-years-old.

At a hearing last month he also pleaded guilty to a further 45 charges of making and distributing indecent images and inciting youngsters to engage in sexual activity on the internet.

The offences were linked to the grooming of more than 20 girls. It took the court clerk half-an-hour to read out the charges.

Police became aware of Wilson after a teenage victim reported that he was blackmailing her.

In a raid on his Birmingham flat police seized his computer and discovered the extent of his crimes.

They found images of a child, aged two or three, being abused at the Little Stars Nursery.

Detectives discovered that Wilson used a number of false online identities to contact girls across the country, including posing as a scout for a modelling agency.

He coerced girls aged between 12 and 15 to expose themselves on webcams and to perform a number of sexual acts.

Wilson introduced the girls to who they thought were other people but were in fact one or more of his online personas.
