A pair of Wiltshire estate agents are “going out on a high” after deciding to wind down their business after being in partnership for the past 20 years.

David Heath and Kenneth Williams, of DK Residential Sales & Lettings in Trowbridge, are to close their Church Street office by the end of this week.

The pair opened for business on July 1, 2003 and quickly established themselves in the town from their historic premises in Tudor House.

They are familiar faces in the industry, with more than 45 years of training and experience between them in estate agency in the South West.

Mr Heath, 59, who became a grandfather last year, said he wants to spend more time with his family and is open to offers of new employment.

“I just want to step back and take control of my life. I’m too young to retire, so will be looking for another job.

“We are going out on a high and have received some lovely comments from people in the industry.”

Mr Williams, 52, said that after 20 years they had decided to review the company’s future.

“We are going to take a step back. It has been a marvellous 20 years but now is a good time to review where we are going.”

In a post on their Facebook page, the pair said: “After 40 and 35 years respectively in estate agency, business partners David Heath and Kenneth Williams have news to share with you all.

“Over the last 20 years of running DK Residential, we have had an incredible journey in building a successful business and gaining a reputation of determination and professionalism and we thank all customers old and new for making this happen.

“We have both decided that the time has come for each of us move onto new ventures in life, and will therefore be winding down the business from the 1st March.

“It has been an amazing journey, and we have enjoyed dealing with so many of you all, whether as sellers, buyers, landlords or tenants, and many who we now consider as friends.

“Within the professional area of the business, it has also been a joy to assist solicitors, conveyancers, and surveyors alike. We will cherish so many great memories the 20 years has provided.

“We will continue to progress all the current sales from our office until the March 31, and then remotely after this date.”
