The cheapest property in Scotland is up for sale in Paisley, with a guide price of just £5000.

The one-bedroom flat in Lawn Street is being sold by Prime Property Auctions and has recently been reduced. Other one-beds in the area go for over £50,000 so the flat is a steal in comparison.

But the property requires extensive refurbishment with it currently having no windows, caved-in ceilings and the walls are exposed brickwork. It will most likely require a full electrical re-wire and has no useable bathroom suite.

For someone handy, there is a good profit to be made with the flat likely to achieve £550-625 a month in rent once refurbished and be valued at £50,000.

A spokesperson from Prime Property Auctions said: "This property is ready for builder, investor or developer to bring to life and is a potentially high-yielding investment property.

"Sure to appeal to investors looking for an easy lettable flat in a sought-after location with great potential for Capital Growth. The local areas have seen some great sales recently showing that there is strong demand."
