Paisley to be 'coldest area' in Scotland this winter as full predicted list released
A list of the "coldest places in Scotland over winter" has been revealed.
Temperatures have plummeted across Scotland the past week with Glasgow city seeing snow and wintery showers on November 23. However, some parts of the country are more likely to see especially chilly conditions during the season ahead.
Experts from Online Marketing Surgery and Green Leaf Garden Buildings recently shared their Winter Report. The report looks at areas in Scotland with the highest and lowest minimum temperature over last year’s winter period to determine the potential coldest areas this year, reports the Daily Record.

The report predicts Paisley in Renfrewshire as the number one coldest area in Scotland this year. According to the experts, temperatures in the town reached a low of -8.9 degrees Celsius last year.
Located around just 20 minutes out of the centre of Glasgow by car, Paisley is known for its yearly festive celebrations. Paisley's Christmas, based in the town centre, features an ice rink, funfair, and more.
Elsewhere, Renfrew in Renfrewshire and St Andrews in Fife also hit lows of -8.9 degrees Celsius last winter. If you are planning to visit either town for a bit of Christmas shopping, make sure to wrap up warm.
Following behind as the next coldest destinations in Scotland are Dundee and Inverness. According to the report, both cities saw temperatures as low as -8.6 degrees Celsius during winter 2023.
On the other hand, the warmest winter destination in Scotland is said to be Aberdeen. The Winter Report states that the city experienced lows of -4.2 degrees Celsius last year.
Meanwhile, Glasgow, Glenrothes, Rutherglen, Bishopbriggs, and Kirkintilloch are all the next warmest places in Scotland over the winter. All destinations hit lows of -5.7 degrees Celsius last year.
