Paisley pervert caught with sick animal images ordered to carry out community service

A Paisley man who was caught with bestiality images has been ordered to carry out community service.

Twisted Robert Campbell admitted ahead of his trial last month at Paisley Sheriff Court to being in possession of the sickening pictures.

Campbell, of Orchy Crescent, pleaded guilty to having “extreme pornographic” images in his possession at his home – “depicting in an explicit and realistic way bestiality” – on December 27, 2021.

The court heard how the 41-year-old’s internet provider provided police with information regarding creepy Campbell’s web use. Police thereafter carried out a search on Campbell’s devices where it was revealed he was in possession of the disgusting images.

Defence agent Mr Corisani told the court Campbell has no previous convictions and has not been before the attention of the police or courts since this incident. He added: “He acknowledges this is a serious matter and is somewhat embarrassed this conviction is now against his name.

"He is willing to comply with any community-based order. He enjoys the support given to him by his partner and he expresses remorse he has found himself in this position.”

The town’s court heard Campbell faced a charge which alleged he permitted indecent images of children to be made on December 26, 2021.

He also faced another charge which alleged he was in possession of indecent images of children at his home on December 27, 2021. His not guilty pleas to both charges were accepted by the Crown.

Sheriff Duffy stated: “You’re 41, you’re a first offender and I take that into account. This is a serious offence.”

Campbell was ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work in the community within six months and was placed under supervision of the social work department for 12 months.
