Paisley woman missing out on sleep to raise vital cash for children's charity
A big-hearted Paisley woman has her sleeping bag, woolly hat and hot water bottle at the ready to raise funds for charity.
Susan Lauder will be boycotting her bed in a bid to raise cash in aid of Action for Children.
Susan and her daughter, Megan, along with Susan’s colleagues at the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework partnership (SCQFP), will be taking on the challenge of the annual Boycott Your Bed event, sleeping out to support vulnerable children, while raising vital funds on Friday.
The group will spend the night sleeping outside in Glasgow city centre with just a sleeping mat and bag to protect them from the elements.
Susan told the Paisley Daily Express: “I’m very excited to take part in Boycott Your Bed with my daughter and colleagues. We want to raise as much money as possible to help children living in poverty, so please donate what you can.”
Action for Children Scotland protects and champions children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and assistance, ensuring their voices are heard, and campaigning to bring lasting improvements to their lives.
More than four million children now live in poverty in the UK. Through its fundraising, the SCQFP team wants to help Action for Children Scotland support more children and young people.
