Palestinian Stabs Multiple Israelis in Hotel Along Tel Aviv Promenade

Israeli Police Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld confirmed an 18-year-old Palestinian from Nablus stabbed and wounded at least three Israelis in the Leonardo Hotel, located along the Tel Aviv seaside promenade, on April 23.

CCTV footage shows the attacker entering the hotel’s front entrance, before proceeding to stab people inside the hotel. Shortly thereafter he ran outside onto the beachfront where he was apprehended by local police.

Israeli police, who have since handed over the investigation to the Shin Bet domestic security service, have deemed the incident a nationally-motivated attack. Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai told the media, “This is another painful reminder to the difficult reality we’re living in, particularly on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day. We thank everyone involved in the quick response, which prevented losses. We will not surrender to terrorism. I wish all wounded a quick recovery.”

While much information about the identify of the attacker remains unclear, it is important to note that the attack was planned to coincide with Holocaust Remembrance Day. Hamas praised the attack on its website without suggesting any connection to the attack Credit: CCTV Footage via Storyful
