Panic at Vigil For Victims of Oxford Shooting Amid Reports of Medical Emergency

A reported medical emergency at a vigil in Oxford, Michigan, cased panicked mourners to flee on the evening of December 3, three days after a shooting at a local high school.

Crowds had gathered in downtown Oxford on Friday evening to pay their respects to the four students killed by the 15-year-old gunman, and those wounded in the attack at Oxford High School.

According to local reports, an individual fainted during the vigil, creating panic in the crowd.

Brendan Gutenschwager, who took this video, said “a medical emergency caused a panic in the crowd after people began yelling for help for an individual that had fainted in downtown Oxford. It took several minutes for things to calm down and the vigil to resume, with many going home immediately after the incident”. Credit: Brendan Gutenschwager via Storyful
