Panicking motorist caused head-on crash after being distracted by spider
A motorist who became panicked by a spider in their car ended up causing a head-on crash when they took their eyes off the road.
Derbyshire Police posted a picture of the wrecked cars after the crash on the A50 in Derbyshire which left both drivers suffering minor injuries.
The driver of the silver Citroen Saxo ploughed into a red car which was parked in a layby when they tried to catch the unwelcome bug.

Graham Galloway tweeted: “Hope the spider was ok?"
Jack Foreman added: “If he so stupid as to try to catch a spider & cause that amount of damage to both vehicles, he is too stupid to be allowed to continue to drive.
“Due Care & Attention doesn't even begin to approach the imbecility.”
