Papal Pie: Stranger Delivers Pizza To Pope

Pope Francis, who recently claimed the thing he missed most was being able to slip out for a pizza, received a special delivery from a stranger as he waved to crowds during a visit to Naples.

Pizza maker Enzo Cacialli managed to get close enough as the Popemobile whizzed past to hand its 78-year-old passenger one of his creations.

The Pope looked more than happy to accept.

Two weeks ago he had explained to a Mexican TV channel: "The only thing I would like is to go out one day, without being recognised, and go to a pizzeria for a pizza."

Mr Cacialli's stunt was filmed by a colleague at the Don Ernesto pizzeria.

Afterwards the chef is seen pumping his fist in the air as the crowd cheered.

Mr Cacialli told Naples' Il Mattino that he used yellow tomatoes rather than red to reflect the colours of the Holy See.

It is unclear whether the Pope ate the pizza.
