With the Olympics over for another four (or three) years, it’s time for the Paralympics to take centre stage again as the opening ceremony gets underway on Tuesday.
Around 4,350 athletes representing 160 countries are due in Tokyo to compete across 22 sports in 539 events.
Team GB will be represented by around 200 athletes, looking to better their haul of 147 medals from five years ago in Rio.
When do the Paralympics 2021 start?
The Paralympics begin on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in Tokyo.
The opening ceremony starts at 8pm local time, which is 12pm BST in the UK.
Unlike the Olympics, all action begins after the opening ceremony - kicking off on Wednesday, August 25, right through until Sunday, September 5.
