Paramedics sent to A50 as smash triggers gridlock
Paramedics were sent to a smash on the A50 which triggered gridlock. Emergency services had been sent to the stretch around Heron Cross at around 11am this morning.
StokeonTrentLive reported at the time how during the height of the incident traffic came to a stop on the westbound carriageway - with queues back to Meir. Now West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed one man was checked over following the collision.
It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said: "We were called to a road traffic collision on the A50 in Fenton. One ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a man who was assessed by ambulance staff and did not require further treatment. He received self-care advice before being discharged at the scene."
