You may not be able to dine with your favorite celebrity (coronavirus pandemic or not), but Off The Menu and Uber Eats have come up with the next best thing.
To celebrate National Burger Day (May 28) and help to benefit COVID-19 relief efforts, the membership club and food delivery app have joined forces for the Burger Showdown event.
The competition pairs celebrities like Matthew McConaughey, Paris Hilton and Melissa McCarthy with chefs from over 50 restaurants in the US and Canada to create their own dream burger that fans can try out for themselves.
The burgers are available to order through Uber Eats via the Burger Showdown website from May 28 through May 31, with each order counting as a vote for that celebrity’s creation. If your burger of choice isn’t available for delivery where you live, not to worry, you can still vote for your favorite burger on the site.
And because there’s also a video for every celebrity-chef team breaking down the ingredients inside the bun, you can also make your own burger right at home if your pick can’t be delivered to your door.
In addition to encouraging people to stay at home, the Burger Showdown also supports Frontline Foods and encourages participants to donate to the organization as well.
“We paired some of the most well-known burger lovers with Uber Eats' local favorites to create their ultimate burger - and we can't wait for everyone to enjoy them,” Lawrence Longo, founder and CEO at Off The Menu told Forbes.
“We also hope everyone will help us in our efforts to support Frontline Foods, who are feeding our heroes on the frontlines as well as provide some additional awareness for our restaurant partners whose businesses have been impacted by the pandemic,” continued Longo.
While McConaughey’s burger is a more traditional combination of beef, bacon, American cheese, lettuce and tomato (with a jalapeno kick), Hilton takes a more glam approach to her burger with a pink sauce, star-shaped pickles and a truffle oil-infused beef patty.
There’s even a bunless, vegan option from Kaley Cuoco or double the beef from Shay Mitchell, so you can test out a new burger through the end of the week.
