Paris Jackson checks in ‘to work on her emotional wellbeing’

Paris Jackson has reportedly checked herself into a treatment centre to work on her “emotional health”.

The 20-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson is said to be taking time off to “aid in her wellness plan”, according to US website Entertainment Tonight.

A source told the site that Jackson “decided she needed to take some time off to reboot, realign and prioritise her physical and emotional health”. They added: “She checked herself into a treatment facility to aid in her wellness plan and is looking forward to coming out of this revitalised and ready to tackle the exciting new projects that await her.”

The actress and model, pictured, who recently launched a singing career, has not posted on Instagram since sharing a modelling shot more than a month ago. Jackson, the sister of Prince and Blanket, has previously spoken candidly about her struggles with anxiety and depression.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in 2017, she spoke of how she tried to commit suicide when she was 15 and would self-harm, without telling her family.

She said: “It was just self-hatred, low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living any more.” Jackson claimed part of the cause was from associating with “a lot of older people doing a lot of crazy things” because she did not fit in with her class- mates.

She added: “I was doing a lot of things 13, 14 and 15-year-olds shouldn’t do. I tried to grow up too fast, and I wasn’t really that nice a person.” Jackson also claimed she was sexually assaulted by an older “complete stranger” at 14.
