Park Ridge police: Jeep stolen at BP gas station, aggravated DUI

The below information comes from Park Ridge Police Department reports and releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.


A victim exited their car while they were pumping gas at the Thornton’s Gas Station at 1118 W. Touhy Ave. on Feb. 1 at approximately 12:15 a.m. As the victim walked towards the pump, an unknown offender exited from an Acura’s passenger side door and removed a bag from the victim’s vehicle. The offender fled the scene westbound on Touhy Avenue. Some of the property taken was recovered by the police when it was discarded by the offender in the area of Touhy Avenue and Dee Road.

Motor Vehicle Theft

A victim left their 2021 Jeep Renegade running while they walked into the BP gas station at 1220 W. Touhy Ave. on Jan. 28 at approximately midnight. Security footage showed a silver sedan and a white Acura pull up to the vehicle from behind, and a passenger from one of the offending vehicles entered the Jeep and took off with the vehicle.

Suspicious Auto

A witness observed a white Acura with two unknown individuals checking car door handles on the first block of North Knight Ave. on Jan. 28 at approximately 1:48 a.m.

Criminal Trespass to Vehicle

An unknown offender rummaged through a 2006 Lexus Rx-4 while it was parked on the street on the 600 block of Goodwin Drive sometime between 12 p.m. on Jan. 27 and 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 29.

Theft over $500

An unknown offender pickpocketed a victim’s purse while the victim was drinking coffee at the Panera at 39 S. Northwest Hwy. on Jan. 27 sometime between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The offender stole various cards, including the victim’s driver’s license.

An unknown offender removed a package from a victim’s porch on North Dee Road between 8:16 p.m. on Jan. 27 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 28.

Theft $500 and under

Surveillance footage from Advocate Lutheran General Hospital showed three unknown juvenile offenders take food from the cafeteria and leave the final point of purchase without paying for the items on Jan. 29 at approximately 11:15 p.m. at 1775 Dempster St.

Suspended License

A 32-year-old Chicago man from the 4400 block of West Walton Street was arrested for driving with a suspended license and a brake light violation on the 800 block of West Touhy Avenue on Jan. 31 at 12:42 p.m.


A 20-year-old Morton Grove man from the 6400 block of Palma Lane was arrested for speeding 26-34 over the limit at the intersection of Cumberland and Bryn Mawr Avenues on Jan. 31 at 12:46 p.m. The man also had a seat belt violation.

A 41-year-old man from the 13800 block of Callisto Ave., Naples, Florida, was arrested for speeding 21-25 over the limit at the intersection of Dee Road and Higgins Road on Feb. 3 at 10:38 a.m. The man did not have a driver’s license.


A 36-year-old Chicago woman from the 800 block of North Parkside Avenue was arrested for a warrant on the 1000 block of Busse Highway on Feb. 3 at 10:42 a.m.

Aggravated DUI

A 44-year-old Chicago man from the 4700 block of Komensky Avenue was arrested for an aggravated DUI on the 7400 block of Oakton Street in Niles on Feb. 4 at 12:51 a.m. The man was issued a warrant, and accused of making improper lane changes, speeding 21-25 over the limit and operating an uninsured vehicle.
