More than 100 firefighters are battling a blaze on an industrial estate in west London that has seen huge plumes of smoke rise into the air.

Fifteen fire engines and 125 firefighters have been called to Acton Lane in Park Royal after a kitchen furnishing sales warehouse went up in flames.

Crews were scrambled just before 2.30pm and are still tackling the inferno against the backdrop of Wembley Stadium.

Pictures and videos shared on social media show huge plumes of black smoke that can be seen for miles.

London Fire Brigade station commander Emma Carr who is at the scene said: "Crews are working hard to bring the fire at an industrial unit under control.

"This is creating heavy smoke, so we urge locals to close windows and doors and avoid the area."

There have been 34 calls to 999 about the blaze, LFB said.

Fire crews from Park Royal, Willesden, Wembley, North Kensington and Paddington fire stations are at the scene.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
