A man has been praised for getting petty revenge on a fellow plane passenger. He was travelling from Manila in the Philippines to San Francisco in America at the time of the incident.

An 'inconsiderate' woman behind him began to jab at her TV screen even though he asked her to be more gentle. But she reportedly starred at him in silence each time he asked, the man wrote on Reddit.

He added: "I had turned around in my seat about four times to ask another passenger to tap her touchscreen gently. She kept stabbing at the screen/headrest while giving no f***s.

"Each time I asked her to take care she just stared at me in silence. After the fourth time, she replied 'Just f***ing deal with it' and continued on. This was about one third of the way in on a 13-hour or so flight."

But the man decided to get back at the woman and roped in another passenger to help him, The Mirror reports. "On my next bathroom break, I went up to the young man seated behind her and showed him a message I wrote on my notes app," he said.

"It read 'The lady sitting in front of you is playing whack-a-mole with my headrest. I'll give you $50 (£40) when we land if you f*** with her for at least an hour'. He laughed and nodded. After about an hour later, I heard commotion behind me, 'Quit it, she said'."

The other passenger pretended to be asleep with his headphones in while purposely hitting her seat when readjusting. The man said: "He just ignored her when she finally got up and tapped him (quite hard I might add), and he made a fuss about waking up in confusion, offered apologies, and continued on readjusting his feet every so often for what seemed like the rest of the flight.

"Upon exiting, I waited at the gate for him and he waved away my offer to pay him. Really nice guy." In response, one Reddit user praised the man's actions.

They wrote: "That would have been worth the $50, I think I've had that woman sitting behind me before." A second user said: "I have never had an issue after asking the person to please touch the screen gently. What a rude woman and perfect revenge."

Another added: "Nice. Very petty, I love how humanity as a whole are 100 per cent down to be petty at a moment's notice!"
