Passengers who claim they were hurt when cruise ship tilted are suing

Carnival Cruise Line is being sued for negligence by passengers who claim they got hurt when a ship tilted as it left Port Canaveral in Florida.

They were on the Carnival Sunshine last October when the vessel tilted for roughly a minute, The Miami Herald reported.

Passengers who claim they were injured are suing the cruise line for negligence, arguing the crew were not properly instructed to handle the situation.

Broken bottles and plates

Passenger David Crews told News 6: "I didn't think anything of it, since it's not uncommon for ships to rock back and forth. But it didn't rock back. It kept leaning."

The outlet also reports that photos from the incident showed broken bottles and plates and passengers were given a $50 (£38) credit to spend on board.

Despite the issue, Carnival says the problem was fixed quickly and the ship continued on its week-long Caribbean cruise.
