Passengers Face Flight Delays as Power Outage Hits Perth Airport

A power outage hit Perth Airport on Tuesday, August 2, delaying multiple flights scheduled to depart from the airport according to the airport’s Twitter page.

Footage posted to Twitter by user Simitha Singam shows passengers waiting at a dark boarding gate. “Sitting in the dark cold boarding gate at Perth Airport while starving,” Singam wrote on Twitter.

According to local news reports, the power outage was caused by extreme weather conditions on Tuesday, August 2, including winds with speeds of up to 70km/h
