Patrick Mahomes Eats Doritos ‘Every Night in Bed’ Reveals Wife Brittany
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback "used to be a cool ranch guy" but now he reaches for the purple bag
Patrick Mahomes has one interesting nightly routine.
On Thursday, his wife Brittany held an Instagram Q&A with fans on her Story — and she revealed a hilarious ritual her Kansas City Chiefs quarterback husband partakes in every night.
In one question, a fan asked her, “What’s a funny habit that Patrick has?” Brittany responded: “Eat Doritos every night in bed😂.”
The football star has been open about his affinity for the Frito-Lay product for years. In an X post from March of 2020, he posed a question to followers. “Should I do an at-home workout with Brittany as my trainer on Instagram live?” he wrote on the platform formerly known as Twitter. “Or should i just crush some cool ranch Doritos and play @CallofDuty?”
In a recent TikTok video with GQ Sports, he shared that he is a “big snacker,” especially at night.
“I always grab either a purple bag of Doritos, which I just got on. I used to be a cool ranch guy, but now I’m on the purple bag,” he said of the spicy sweet chili flavor.
During Brittany’s Instagram Q&A, she also shared a glimpse into the couple’s grocery shopping habits beyond snacks when a fan asked if she does her own food haul.
“Our chef does it for us now,” she wrote. “I literally used to spend hours in the grocery store because I thought I needed everything there and I would read the nutritional facts I swear on everything 😂I was nuts😂.”
In July, Patrick spoke to PEOPLE about how his wife is the glue of their family.
“I have a great wife. I think that helps out a ton,” he told PEOPLE at the premiere of his new Netflix documentary series Quarterback in Los Angeles, California. “She helps me out a ton by taking stuff off my plate.”
“I have great people around me and I can be Patrick Mahomes," he added of his wider support group, which includes daughter Sterling Skye, 2, and son, Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III, nine months, alongside Brittany, who he married in July 2022.

"I can be myself, the same person I've grown up being — and luckily that's won a couple of Super Bowls," he said.
At the premiere of Quarterback, the father of two shared his hopes that his children will now get to see “that when dad's not home, he's out there working hard to achieve his dream."
“I don't know what my kids' dreams are going to be, but I want them to work hard at it and try to achieve those," he said to PEOPLE about the inspiration this will hopefully provide them. “Now they're too young now to understand, but when they see this as they get older, I want them to know that they can go out there and chase their dreams and still have a great family at home.”
