You might remember that a few months back, Wonder Woman 1984 was pushed back from a November 2019 release to June 2020.

The people behind the film were pleased about the extra time at first, but now director Patty Jenkins has (jokingly) backpedalled and said she wants it out sooner.

In this clip that has been doing the rounds on social media, Patty stated: "I can't wait! I can't believe – it's so funny, for all the entire time that we were making the movie, I was lobbying. They were wanting to move it up much earlier.

"And I was like 'You guys, it’s got to be the summer of 2020, like it’s got to be!' And that was what I always wanted."

She continued: "And now, I’ve just screened a version of the film and I’m like 'Oh my God, can we move it back up again?' I’m dying to release this film! But of course it's good and it's fine, but it's frustrating to have to wait."

Producer Charles Roven previously explained the Warner Bros wanted a 2019 'tentpole' release and had Patty and her team rush pre-production, before coming to their senses and deciding to give the film the time it needs.

Or doesn't actually need, apparently.

Wonder Woman 1984 will be released on June 5, 2020.
