Paul Chuckle has shared a touching tribute to his late brother Barry on the second anniversary of his death.

The comedian, whose real surname is Elliot, took to social media today to mark the passing of his older brother Barry, who tragically died of bone cancer on August 5, 2018 aged 73.

In the post, Paul, 72, shared a black and white image of the pair of them, along with a heartfelt caption.

"Can't believe its been two years already, 5 August 2018, miss you Baz," he wrote.

Since sharing his message, fans have rallied around Paul, who was one half of comedy duo The Chuckle Brothers.

Love Island narrator Iain Stirling wrote: "You two were such an inspiration to me when I started at CBBC and still are today. Thoughts with you and your family today x"

Actor John Challis, who played Boycie in Only Fools And Horses, also shared an image of him with the brothers, before telling Paul "thinking of you today."

At the time of his death, Barry's manager Phil Dale confirmed the sad news and issued a statement to fans from Mr Elliot's family.

"It is with great sadness that the family announce that Barry passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family," the statement read.

"The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have been fans of the Chuckle Brothers and they know that they will share in part the great, great loss they feel."

Later that day, Paul's wife Sue posted on Twitter on his behalf, saying: "Paul has asked me to send a message to thank EVERYONE for your lovely messages this morning, he is absolutely devastated so unable to respond himself but your messages really do help and he knows Barry would so happy to know how much he was loved, Sue X"

The family faced further tragedy last year, when the 'third Chuckle brother', Jimmy Patton - who also featured in the hit children's show - passed away.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the family said: "I just thought I'd let you know that the Chuckle Brothers older Brother Jimmy Patton has sadly passed away.

"Jimmy was a big part of Chucklevision and the stage shows where he played the character No Slacking. RIP Jim Lad. And No Slacking."
