Blake Lively's baking effort earns 'Hollywood Handshake' from Paul Hollywood

Blake Lively's recent baking attempt has received the stamp of approval from none other than Paul Hollywood

The 33-year-old actor posted a video of a pink unicorn cake complete with ears, gold horn and a rainbow mane made up of edible flowers and decorations as she shared the colourful creation to Instagram. 

Tagging the Great British Bake Off judge in the her caption, she wrote: "If I don’t get a handshake from @paul.hollywood after decorating this one, I quit."

Hollywood, 54, gave her exactly what she asked for as he responded with a handshake emoji and replied: "Nice work x."

The cake also got some attention from other famous faces who marvelled at what Lively had made, including Salma Hayek who commented: "Love it 🥰."

Meanwhile, Sharon Stone remarked in the comments: "OMG YOU DID THIS 👊🏻💥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻super woman super mom ❤️❤️❤️."

While in the UK its referred to as Bake Off, the programme is known as The Great British Baking Show over in the US where it has been made available on Netflix. 

Hollywood has also appeared as a judge on two US incarnation of the programme, The American Baking Competition and The Great American Baking Show

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the baker was able to dish out his famous handshakes on the 2020 instalment of Bake Off.

Contestants, judges, presenters and the show's crew formed a big production bubble, living and working together for just over a month to ensure the show could be filmed. 

Hollywood was once again joined by judge Prue Leith while Matt Lucas had his presenting debut on the show alongside Noel Fielding. 

The competition was eventually won by its youngest ever champion, 20-year-old Peter Sawkins.
