Paul Hollywood’s departure from the Good Food Show has been confirmed.

The Great British Bake Off judge had previously appeared alongside his former GBBO co-judge Mary Berry at the live event held in Birmingham in 2018.

However, as preparations are made for the 2019 event, it has been claimed that Hollywood has been replaced by his ex wife Alex.

Hollywood and Alex split in 2017 after 20 years of marriage.

A source alleged to The Sun: “Mary has made it clear were her loyalties lie – and it’s not with Paul.

“She’s still upset with how he behaved with Alex and is not even making an attempt to get to know Summer.”

“And to avoid any awkwardness with Paul, she’s more than happy to work with Alex and help boost her profile as a budding celebrity cook,” the insider went on to comment.

Whilst a spokesperson confirmed to Yahoo that the celebrity baker and chef would not be making an appearance at the event in June, it’s not because he was sacked.

They commented: “Paul has a great relationship with Good Food Show. Unfortunately, he is not available for the June show.

“We are currently discussing dates for later in the year. He has a long standing relationship with Good Food and has not been sacked.”

Alex recently spoke about her split from Hollywood when she revealed that calling time on their marriage was the right thing to do.

“I had to do the right thing, and to have self-respect as well,” she told Daily Mail’s weekend magazine earlier this year.

“Everything is so moveable, so transient,” she added.

“I just think it’s sad, because there’s an awful lot more to marriage than just two people hooking up because they like each other. It’s about friendship.”
